Health and Safety

When it comes to demolition health and safety, only an exceptional policy is ever good enough and we are proud to have an unblemished record throughout our 45 year history.

Bringing down buildings and breaking up materials creates all kinds of risks for any people who happen to be nearby and we recognise that and manage it through a comprehensive safety policy designed to respond to the Construction Regulations, Building Act and all other relevant legislation and guidelines.

A comprehensive health and safety policy
Getting it right means looking at every aspect of the company to ensure genuine safety on any site. Modern, well maintained equipment has to be operated by qualified operators, supervised and managed by an experienced foreman and site manager, all following a method statement incorporating a full risk assessment. Crucially, every member of our team is also fully aware of their responsibilities under our policy as well, this combination of approaches has helped keep a perfect health and safety record at Mitchell Demolition for over 45 years.

Qualified staff with ongoing skills training
We make sure our team are fully qualified to operate equipment, experienced on site and aware of their responsibilities under the health and safety policy. Everyone at Mitchell Demolition has been through CITB and NDTG approved courses and is qualified to CSCS and CPCS standards, with dangerous waste handlers further certified by ARCA to ensure full safety compliance and responsible disposal.

Ensuring safety compliance for equipment hire
Our hire plant is the same equipment we use ourselves so it is always well maintained, working properly and includes any essential safety features. We also only supply equipment with our own CSCS and CPCS approved operators who are all well trained and fully qualified to work in any construction environment, and can offer real expertise in operation of the kit on site.

No matter what your requirements for controlled demolitions or handling of dangerous substances like asbestos, put it in the hands of the specialist team that ensures full health and safety compliance at Mitchell Demolition. Contact us today and we can arrange a no obligation survey and quotation.
